Summer Job

This summer I'll be pursuing my artistic interests by building up my artist inventory and working part-time in a prestigious gallery in the Myers Park neighborhood of Charlotte. Allison Sprock Fine Art displays extraordinary original art from famous and emerging artists all over the world. The art collection includes portraiture, landscape, photography, mixed media, and more, and each artist brings his or her own unique perspective on art into the gallery. Owner Allison has been inspired by art from a very young age and has built up a magnificent collection, eager to always find the right piece of art for prospective buyers. As an intern, I will work in the gallery to welcome guests, help host cocktail parties, keep the space organized, and spread the word about the gallery. Every day I will be surrounded by incredible artwork that will help serve as inspiration for me as I build up my own artistic inventory of paintings and drawings. I'm looking forward to a very art-filled summer and learning all about the business side of the art world as my portrait commissions start to take off. Please come in to the gallery if you're in the area or check out the website!

"The object isn't to make art, it is to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable." - Robert Henri

She works from a multimedia, monochromatic, abstract background and focuses her attention on bold brush strokes and large scale with her dog portraits. "Misty Meadow" by Sunny Goode Goode is a Richmond, VA, artist who claims that color is how she communicates, and it is her primary voice. She uses her painting and color to work through her emotions and can always look back at a painting and "see" what was going on in her life at that time. It is her mental yoga and she hopes her paintings will reflect an emotion that gets deeper every time you look at them.
